OLD SPICE BIG AIR | April 14
Kicking off the first weekend of the festival, the Old Spice Big Air launched 30 skiers and snowboarders into Skier's Plaza. Set at the base of Whistler Mountain, massive crowds braved the drizzle to experience the most adrenaline fueled competition of the festival. With the evening soundtracked by Bassnectar and Zilla, riders competed in a 2 jump contest, with the top 3 scoring riders; TJ Schiller, Charles Gagnier and JF Houle, advancing to a 5, 7, 9 and beyond Super Final. In the end, TJ Schiller won first place and $5,000 - becoming the 2007 Old Spice Big Air Champion.
In addition to winning cash & prizes, the Super Finalists also won starts in the final competition of the 2007 festival, the Playstation Big Air.
SUPERPIPE | April 18 – 21
Blackcomb's infamous Superpipe hosted 4 days of snowboard & ski competitions. All skiers started off in round one and competed their way into the finals, giving up & coming riders a chance to size up their skills against the pros and move their way up the ranks.
The top skiers made it through to the Semi-Finals, then the on to the Superpipe Finals on Saturday, April 21 where 2006 Superpipe Champions Andreas Hatveit, Mike Riddle, Justin Dorey, and Sarah Burke were waiting to take them on.
An exciting day in the Superpipe, saw Sarah Burke and Mike Riddle hold on to their spots on the podium for another year, and they were joined by some new faces to WSI.

PLAYSTATION BIG AIR | April 21
The PlayStation Big Air brought the 2007 TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival to a close – Whistler style. This was the SECOND Big Air event of the festival and invited a whole new field of skiers to hit the jump,with the 2006 winners Jon Olsson, TJ Schiller and Sammy Carlson, as well as the top winners from the first weekend; Charles Gagnier and JF Houle.
Skiers again competed in the 5, 7, 9 and beyond Super Final which saw Jon Olsson take home first place and $5,000, with Tanner Rainville coming in 2 nd place and JF Houle in 3 rd place.
*PROM*
For the final party of the festival, athletes crimped their hair, broke out the bangles, neon and lace and celebrated at the 80s style *Prom*. DJ R3 kept the 80s tunes flowing, while The Breakfast Club and other 80s movies played in the background. PONTIAC PEAK PERFORMER
Throughout the 10 days of the festival, skiers and riders accumulated points through their rankings in the competitions and also by receiving votes at the Pontiac tent in Whistler Village. These points were used to determine the Pontiac Peak Performer, and the winner was awarded a brand new, shiny black Pontiac G5 for keeps! Congratulations to the 2007 Pontiac Peak Performer: Craig Beaulieu!
