APRIL 13-22 FREERIDE CLUB SERIES @ 9PM
APRIL 13-14 & 19-21 APRES SERIES @ 3:30PM

Year after year, the Kokanee Freeride Club Series plays host to the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival crowd by opening wide the front doors to Whistler's favorite clubs and bars and unveiling some of the rising stars as well as established names in music. This event is a special one and a longtime festival favorite. The combination of larger than life bands and DJs jells nicely with the smaller more intimate setting, making these events ones you shouldn't miss. Also, cheers to Kokanee for picking up the tab and keeping the ride free.

2007 KOKANEE FREERIDE CLUB SERIES LINE-UP...
TOKYO POLICE CLUB | SUNDAY APRIL 15TH | GLC

Discordant noise and sublime melodies – who can resist? The Tokyo Police club demo wound up in the hands of Paper Bag Records after a sweaty Pop Montreal show. We played it once, twice, three times and beyond that we lost count – then we did that every day and eventually just made time in our schedules to kick back and enjoy “The Nature of the Experiment”, the bands clear party tune, on a daily basis for the rest of our lives.

BUCK 65 | TUESDAY APRIL 17TH | GARFINKELS

I grew up in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by music. All kinds.  I seen a lot of things.  By the time I started making records, I had a story to tell but I didn't know how to tell it.  I had an interesting upbringing, but it didn't prevent me from being a jackass as a young man. Pity.  My first bunch of records are crap and that's all there is to it. Boring hip hop...My first real attempts at honesty came along while making an album called Vertex. Songs like 'The Centaur' and 'BSc.' Showed signs of life, but my head was still up my ass and the music was horrible.  You can't even really call it music.  Now my heart was beating and with my next album, Man Overboard, I started to grow some guts for once. Songs like 'Ice', 'Secret Splendor' and 'Pants on Fire' had some humanity at last. Empathy. Plus I finally had the sense to take on some help with the music. It was on this album that I started to work with my friends (and current band members) Graeme Campbell and Charles Austin.

BLISS N ESO | WEDNESDAY APRIL 18TH | MERLINS

The trio – a diverse bunch comprising of American born MC ‘Bliss’, Australian born MC ‘Eso’, and DJ ‘Izm’ of Moroccan heritage – has certainly come a long way since forming in the late 1990s as three high-school students busting rhymes at the local bus stop. In 2000, they burst onto a growing hip-hop scene with the release of their debut EP, aptly titled, The Arrival. With its thumping beats and raw rhymes, the EP was quickly embraced by the Australian hip-hop community, and Bliss n Eso was billed as an outfit to look out for in the future.

Born and raised on the East Coast of Canada in Windsor, Nova Scotia, lil' Trey, age 9, dressed in his mother's over sized hiking boots, wrapped in socks and taped into the bindings of an old snowboard three times his size.
